1.you get armor in various towns across istan. Max is at consulate docks.
2.Skills from the skill trainer or Hero skill trainer. 3.Sunspear points are the points given by npc's outside by resurrection shrines.Theyre usually outside a town, but you can find more by pressing "U". 4.W/E is good. You should try to use a conjure spell like conjure flame and a fiery sword/axe/hammer. Gets ya some extra elemental damage. Warriors don't use that many spells, because they only have 20 energy. 5.Better weapons can be crafted in bigger towns like sunspear sanctuary for 5k. You can also get better weapons from chests. 6.You can do the missions also, although you only get the xp once. Killing while questing is good too. 7. If you find the right one, Guilds can be awesome Don't worry about the questions:P That's what im here for http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page ^^ that site has TONS of nifty info and has all the armors that you can look at too Enjoy, hope i helped

1. you buy armor from the armor crafters to refered to, click on one set and it will give you that stats. they may have the same name but the armor level will probably have gone up.
2. you buy skills from the guy with [skills] next to his name or you can trade in hero skill points that you get by gaining ranks in the sunspear title track that you can redeem for some skills from the [hero skill trainer]. 3. you get sunspear points from doing quests and taking bounties from scouts at rez shrines and killing the mobs that they want you to kill. 4. yes warrior/elementalist is a good build, but people tend to bring to many skills from the elementalist line when you don't have the max energy or energy regeneration to do that. 5. you can find better weapons from monster drops, buy them from other players or buy them from the person that has [weapons] next to his name. to buy them from the trader you have to money and materials that he wants to craft them. it will come with no mods and no inscription but you can use a superior salvage kit to take them off a hammer you have found and then apply it to your hammer. 6 killing monsters and getting quest/mission rewards are the only way to level up. by the time you get off the begininer island you will be level 20 or very close and ready to take on any monster in the game. 7. it is always worth it to find a guild, can bounce questions off of more experienced players and they can help you through missions that you struggle with. and a bit of advice, always bring a rez sig, more and more people these days rely on others to rez dead allies. |

1) I would hold off on the armor until you get to Consulate Docks. The armor there is the best (in terms of defense) in the game. Any armor you find after that will be priced heavier and will be just for show.
2) You don't get skills by leveling up, you get them through skill trainers and hero skill trainers. I would hit up the hero skill trainer first because those guys give skills away for free, but you need to have a few ranks in the Sunspear title track. 3) Quests give Sunspear points and also whenever you see a ressurection shrine, there is a Sunspear Scout there. Talk to him and he gives you a bounty to go kill certain types of monsters. Each kill while under the bounty gives twice as much experience and a Sunspear point. Once you get to the mainland the bounties will increase in terms of Sunspear points. 4) Warrior/Elementalist is a good skill combo, but go search the Campfire section of the forum under warrior for W/E builds. 5) You can either get weapons as drops in the game, buy them from other players, or get them crafted at an armor crafter. Since you are a warrior, you will be using hammers, axes, or swords mostly. The max damage for each is: 19-35 for hammer, 6-28 for axe, and 15-22 for sword. 6) If you haven't seen any missions yet, they are another good way to level up. They give you 1,000 experience when you complete them, and even more if you decide to do the "bonus". 7) In Guild Wars, guilds are very easy to come by, so feel free to join a guild. Try to find a guild that welcomes new people. I've also learned that guild groups are much more effective in all facets of the game than random groups (or PUGs: pick up groups), so I would recommend finding one when you get on the mainland if not sooner. |

i got nightfall 2 days ago and im a lvl 9 warrior ementalist (PvE)and i've run into some things that i dont really get.
1. How do you get armor? all the armor NPC's sell the starting out armor the sunspear and istani armor? As you progress through the game, the armor gets progressively better, with the best being at Consulate Docks, the last place on the island you are on. You can get there by doing the primary quests and storyline missions, or if you see someone "ferrying to docks", but at like 500 per ferry, and the armor costs 1k per piece, you might have to wait a while. 2.How do you get more skills? do you get them when you lvl up ? but i havent gotten any new ones... You get "skill points" when you level up. Look in some towns, such as "Kamadan Jewl of Istan" for a skill trainer. Skills cost gold + 1 skillpoint 3. How do you get sunspear points??? im on the mission to become a first spear or lvl 12? but i've done all the quests i can find in the towns. (so any guides or what not to this mission would be nice) Right by each rez shrine, there is a guy you can talk to who will giv you a bounty for different monster types, such as plants or insects. Killing these will give you sunspear points 4. is warrior and ementalist a good build? im using earth magic and hammers.(any guides to this build as well) At that low of a level, anything you use is effective. Learn what works best before just jumping into high level areas with real people on your team. Earth has some nice defence boosters, but I dont recommend a hammer. It is better for you to use a shirld + sword or axe, because of the defence buff. Hammers are better suited against single targets, and in the places you are in, its groups, not singles. If your primary is Warrior, use as few casting spells as possible (use mostly warrior skills), and if you are a caster, i really dont recommend close-range skills at all, due to the lower armor you have. It is always good use skills from both primary and secondary, just usually focus on the primary 5. Also how can i get better weapons? The higher the level of monster you kill, the higher lvl of weapons you get. Make sure your skill level meets the requirement on the weapon, or it will do minimal damage. There are also collectors, who will take items and in exchange give you weapons/armor. These collectors are usually the best way to go, because the items they give are always pretty high quality. They just arent pretty, but worry about that later 6.Is there a better way to level besides killing monsters and finding quests?? Nope! your best bet for leveling is find a large group of easy critters and kill them untill your level is like 2 above theirs. the higher above you they are, the more xp you get. 7.Is it worth it to try to get in a guild at my point in the game? Not really. its rather pointless. I would suggest joining someones guild, just so you have some idea of what goes on in a guild. Walk into any city, and say "new player looking for guild", and i bet you will get an invite in like 2 seconds. sorry for so many questions! and if there's anything else useful that you think would be good for me to know as a noobie post that too lol thanks a lot!!!! -Zhaus- Last edited by Wrath Of Dragons; Sep 13, 2007 at 02:50 AM // 02:50.. |

There will also be other armor crafters later on in the storyline that sell different armor styles at very high prices. These styles are called prestige armors. They look very flashy, but on a functional level they are exactly the same as max armor. Quote:

The downside of the hammer is that while it deals great damage, you can't use a shield with it. Perhaps you could try using a cheap spell like Armor of Earth (from earth magic) to increase your defence? Try experimenting with a lot of different combinations of skills, and find out what works best for you. Also, if you find that you don't like an Elementalist secondary on your Warrior, later on in the story you'll be able to change your secondary profession. Quote:

One final thing in this post that I'm sure you'll find very useful: head to the Guild Wars Wiki and add it to your bookmarks. That site is crammed with practically everything you will ever need to know about this game. |
